I tried twin SU's.I made the manifold out of steam pipe,sounds dodgy but worked very well.No good without a big exhaust and headwork.Later changed it for a twin barrel stromy off a black motor(or blue can't remember) bomberdoor 202. Pat

i hav 2 webers from my old escort (45s) i thought it would be a good use for them.
any pros and cons for this modification appreciated as well

I would bet that nobody in the world would make such a manifold.
What glorious excess.The engine would never use the airflow and may get cranky at low revs unless you put very small chokes in and are very good at jetting.
The head has very big ports if I recall, and would need a cam and extractors to come alive.
But go for it . Reminds me of a mate who put one of those 2 litre Toyota twin cam engines with 2 Mikunis in a Daihatsu F10. It was SCARY.

As Phillip A said, you'll lose all your low down torque, having it so over carbed. I seem to recall someone getting good results from a factory 2 stage weber off a 2l cortina.
Suitably jetted of course on a modified LR manifold.

Use a stromberg off a 202 with a adjustable mixture screw drill out the little bleed bubble in the ventri a tad larger and it will go like the clappers and give deacent econ![]()
I found that what everyone here said to be true.I done it because it was fun playing with it,in the end I worked it hard and on the road it was great,it could do 140k's but it was to unstable.In the end a stromberg off a holden grey motor,that bolt straight on was the best.The worst was the weber 32/40,it choked even the standard motor I had.
