What is the best power source for a winch on a Defender. Going all the way to the battery under the seat makes it a long cable run. A second battery install under the bonnet could be a way but where to put it?
Thanks
Mine also works fine. Though I mostly go 4wding with other Landies so don't get to use it much.![]()
straight to the seatbox is the easiest option.. just make sure you get a Traxide dual battery system in and you're sweet to go![]()

I made the 1 millionth AULRO post
Had no issues with mine.
The way I load up the camper trailer, ( Booze, fuel, toys, grog, fishing gear, water, alcohol, oh and food ) I'm more likely to be winching myself out!!
Likely to end up with Tojo farm ute and a muzzo as well to recover,
Thanks for the replys. As advised, I run a cable down the chassis rail, when I find a winch bar.
Cheers

I think I saw a Defer winch bar in the markets recently
No problem with it in the battery box.
I think you'll find that's where almost everyone runs the cable to (Including LR Special Vehicles).
