Question Fittings for transmission cooler lines...

On my transmission cooler upgrade, I have been advised against using hose clamps, and this seems wise.
However, there seems to be a variety of other fittings. At my local country town "swage fitting place" are some bolt on fittings, high tensile, with what looks to be a high tensile olive that clamps onto the steel pipe. At the bargain price of $49... each... At the hardware store is a plumbing version with copper olive and brass fittings, for $5 I guess these would be fine as I can't see the line pressure being more than mains water! Please tell me there is no need for the super high pressure version (pending they have the right thread)... !!

Don't asume about the oil pressure being less than water pressure as most water mains run at around 60psi. The pressure in the gear box can be a lor higher. I would advise against the hase clamps as well as some moron placed them on my cooler An they ended up blowing apart end of tranny. I would go for the dearer option from a hydraulic specialist.

    hmmm..

Ok! I'll have a close look at things. I've heard of the hose clamps coming off! Will investigate further - I don't think $400 or so in connections is my option of choice!

oil cooler lines are low pressure.

    good clamps are ok.

    You need high temp hose.
    Barbed hose fittings to.
