    Defender wheels

I own a 97 defender with standard steel wheels and 7.50 x 16 tyres tubes fitted. The tyres are as new. Do any disco wheels fit these tyres? The reason is I wuold like to run tubless and I like the look of the disco rims.

    Regards

I also run tubeless tyres on standard '97 Defender steel rims the same as yours. Beaurepaires, Malaga, Perth advised me that this business about 'safety beads' is a load of rubbish. I have run on them now for 3 years or more with no problems.

S1 disco rims give the option of running the same or wider tyres, tubeless of course...

like phantom, I've fitted and run tubeless tyres on the non-safety bead defender rims without any problems...

tyre fitters round here go bananas about it tho' ... they reckon the liability issues prevent them from fitting tubeless tyres to defender rims altho' they're quite happy to balance them if I fit them

    hmmm.......

    Your NUTS...........

your insurance would have a feild day....

The Safety bead is there for a reason... to stop the tyre rolling off the rim after it goes flat....

Dont believe all you hear from the "Tyre Technicians"

Run tubes like thay are designed for......
