Hi
If you are only doing the springs, check the length of the standard shocks. Shouldn't be a big problem if you don't do any offroad work till you fit the new shocks. If you are going off road I would wait and replace all together.

Hi All am wanting to put a 2" lift kit on the Disco just a question re: springs can i just put the springs due to the bank balance being enough for the springs only, and then at a later date include the shocks. or would it be better to do the whole thing at the same time, your input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance Woz

Phantum is right - good chance of ripping the shocks to bits with the extra flex off road...do the springs n stay in, or wait n do the lot...

I would hate to start a row here but AFAIK a 2" spring lift should be OK on standard shocks.
It just means there will be less articulation. If you get to the end of travel for your shock it will just hang there.
You might want to consider getting longer bump stops as well they are pretty cheap and will help in preventing your longer springs from binding if you come down hard.
In saying that I am not a mechanic, but I'm sure anyone who is can confirm/deny this.
I've got a rangie and have never bothered about changing the shocks/bump stops at the same time as putting in a 2" spring lift. My setup is king springs with Koni shocks, Disco maybe different though

I am doing both in the Fender. I got my shocks out of the US, Shockwarehouse.com Set of Bilstein shocks delivered to my door $464-50 AUD, 11 days delivery from time of order, same shocks in Perth $900 plus $100 delivery.
King springs from Coventrys $290 a set.
