ping ping ping ping ping ping ping ping ping

that is what happens every time I open my door, I've tried to rip the speaker out to shut it up but I can't find it, it sounds like its somewhere behind the fuse box...

Does anyone know where its located on a Disco 1 ? or how to shut it up ?

    I have a theory

Have you tried turning off your headlights?

A couple of years ago these devices cost 120000 pounds.

I'd say (if your lights are extinguished when the pingy thing goes ping) then you may have a loose connection on your headlight switch on the stalk.

What are your dash lights doing when you turn the headlights on and off? Do they dim at all?

I was talking about a ping ping ping problem last week with a friend who is also on here.

Mine doesn't do it but apparently it is a fault in the ignition barrel.

Maybe they will pipe up and tell you for sure.

They fixed it whatever it was anyway.

Duncan, is it the same noise as when the lights are on?

I would describe it as a Beep, beep, beep....................................

The ignition barrel would be on the same circuit but it may also be a fault anywhere within this circuit you just have to find out where.

Does it make any difference if the key is in the ignition or not?
