were your headlights switched on at the time you tried to wash them....?
Guys,
I fitted the ARB bar (see other unrelated question) and found the headlight washers don't work.
I hooked up the pumpo directly to the battery and it pumps a fury - pump = ok
I then tested the connector plug with a light and there is no signal coming through, whilst the windscreen pump does work.
Who knows where the relay for the headlamp washer is? I checked the RAVE CD-ROM and it is not clear, I think there is a seperate realy for this and for the windscreen washer pump.
If I fail, do you think I can hook piggy back the headlamp washer on to the winedscreen washer?
Awaiting your wisdom (again).

Headlamp power wash
Headlamp power wash activates when the following conditions are met:
l Ignition switch in position II.
l Headlamps switched on.
l Front wash switch operated.
l BCU counter allows headlamp power wash.
Operating the front washer switch with the headlamps switched on energises the IDM, supplying a voltage to the
headlamp powerwash relay, which operates the headlamp powerwash pump and increments a counter within the
BCU. This counter prevents the headlamp powerwash pump from operating every time the front washer switch is
activated. Headlamp powerwash is only operational every third front wash cycle, providing the headlamps are on.
The counter resets when the ignition switch is turned off.
When the BCU permits headlamp power wash operation, the pump motor operates only for 0.5 second.
Do have your headlights on?
The headlight washers only work when the lights are on.

I love it when a plan comes together!

You can also test the circuit via Rovacom/Testbook etc.
From memory there is also a plastic NRV on each washer line and these can fail.

Aaaaaaaah,
Thank you Sensei's for your wisdom!
I will try this tonight, as I believe I tested withOUT the headlights being on .....
I AM new to all that is Land Rover & Discovery and their idiosyncrasies!
I will ask harder questions next time.
Thanks again,

Thanks to JustinC for his wisdom!
I had almost given up with the headlight washers. After replacing the burnt out pump I just couldn't figure out why it wouldn't get power.. Until I read this post.
I was trying with the headlights on, but the trick is to be sitting in the car with the DOORS CLOSED! (If the doors are open, only the windscreen washers will work) I would never have guessed that..
