Hub seals, and now how to keep it sealed.....

    G'day guys and gals,
Re the diagram in this link:
Convert RR+Disco Wheel Bearings to Oil Lubed?

What do you do about the rubber end cap?????

Is there a drive flange off another model, or are all the 24 spline diffs doomed to having half a condom on the ends?

And thanks to Dougal fro reminding me to ask!

If I do this to a 24spline disco front end, do I lose any oil out the rubber cap on the drive flange?

They just don't seem that oil-tight.

    I was wondering that.

    Any ideas?

A good quality oil resistant Silicone product is your best friend. We use A Wurth product, expensive but is fantastic. We reseal Tdi sumps with it too.

I converted my 24 spline front end and I still use the rubber end caps without sealant. They haven't leaked yet.
