Hi all, I feel hoggish after posting a could of threads already but i need someadvice.
I have my defender 07 model booked in for a 2 inch suspension lift next week with O.L and on talking to Ian from Parramatta Land Rover service division he has made me more then extremely concerned about doing a lift. He has said that there can be problems with the wiring and ABS/TC systems etc.... I believe he was talking about the recent model more then any older one but should I be concerned?
Have people had problems with there Defenders which had TC/ABS previously who have done a suspension lift?
I am now thinking about calling off the lift but I guess I'll still need suspension upgrade with winch and winch bar being fitted anyway.
It is extremely difficult because I have Gordon, the man from Opposite lock saying one thing and the L.R. man saying another.
ive got a 3'' lift and i had to move that abs and brake lines, but thats due to my wheel travell (and lots of it)
you wont need to worrie about it with a 2'' lift, (opp lock 2'' is 40mm)
tell ian to get back behind his desk and answer his phone! i ring him up not peter his office b#tch
cheers phil
ps if your worried about the abs lines, there is at least 2'' of extra length you can get out of them, just by pulling the lines threw a tad more.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
hahaha, bit of a cat fight there?
I spoke to my O.L. man and he said about 5 of these lifts have been done up in the NT through the dealer and it was easy and without issue. It is difficult knowing who to listen to and how to unscramble advice sometimes because at the end of the day it is 2 people with different perspectives and different ways of achieving their bottom line. SO one is a sales person essentially which can amke it difficult to believe but the other is in a sense just giving a company line and not a personal/professional opinion.
Mind you the O.L man does drive a Defender so just on that I think my trust sways toward him immediately. hahaha.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
all depends on what you intend on doing with the D110.
If its a tourer - leave the rear springs as is, any harder and it will run like an old Tojo and get some D130 front springs in the front when you put in the winch and bar.
Thats assuming the MY07+ is a similar setup as the TD5s
