    Try Defender 1.411 transfer case

On my Disco V8 have fitted Defender high transfer case ratios and 245/7516 Coopers. Makes a world of difference, speedo is within a bee's wick of spoton and it gets up and goes. Lower 1st gear, also 300 more rpm at 100km/hr means the V8 is able to get up more where the torque is. 2125rpm standard transfer case ratio for 100km/hr is no-go zone, IMHO. I can now overtake in 5th with reasonable acceleration. BUT economy is better, as I guess the motor is spinning freely with less loading up.

You should get., around 500 k, (Thats what i get Auto 3.9, light foot) on most runs.

i recently came down from QLD, at a good speed 120-125, nd was getting 600k to a tank, just be gentle, and take all of the crap of the car if you wont anything close to good economy!

    Fuel Economy

    g'day mate,

Just caught your thread about fuel economy. I run a 99 Disco 3.9 manual and get about 500 to 520 from a 89 litre tank around town. y trick is to keep the car light and not to go over 2,500 revs in any gear unless i have to. If you stick to that rule you should find your consumption rate gets better. Other than that I just keep the engine clean, serviced regularly and make her feel good.

    Hope this helps
