    M.P.H to K.P.H

    The current speedo i have is in miles per hour and i have a series 3 speedo thats in kilometres . Do i have to change the gear for the speedo change or is it all good ?

    As Landyandy says - also, if you fit a S3 speedo to a S2a you will have to fit a S3 cable, as the head fitting is different. This will be a bit long, but dispose the extra length under the LH floor, just make sure it can't touch the exhaust pipe. The S3 speedo has the warning lights in it, the same as the later S2a, but if you have them separate you have the choice of using the ones in the speedo or the separate ones.

    When metrication came to Australia I remember we all went out and purchased stickers to cover our analog speedometers (VW). Maybe just write over in texta.

    You could also get gears to put behind the speedo - may be a few of these are still floating about. But I fitted one of these to my 2a just after I got it - and it lasted about a week before the gears stripped.
