Thread: D2 V8 Air Filter box

I had the same problem so I replaced it with one from an earlier RR. See 4.0/4.6/P38A Air Box Replacement

Sikaflex Noir....

I unhook the clips then use a flat black rubber occy around the box so that it keep the lid closed but the lid can move up under backfire....which is very rare. Having said that my wife fed it way way to much throttle the other day when it was stalling up a hill (ie the revs were at about 500rpm and she floored it instead of slipping in the clutch and taking off properly with higher revs) and it still put a nice split in the side!!!

has anybody fitted a relief valve to stop blowing them up?

I have a Disco 1 and the LPG fitters replaced the OEM filter box with a cut down VN commodore airbox. One thing Holden airfilters are only about $10.
