    spare wheel carrier

G/day @ merry xmas to all I have seen 130 Defenders early ones with spare wheel mounted on bonnet. Question would the bonnet of the 94 Defender110 3 door be the same as i would like to mount my spare like wise ?

No they need a bracing kit

You can buy the mounting kits for the 300tdi's and 200tdi's, I believe the re-inforcement is already there.

For the td5's they took the re-inforcement out because the engine was taller and they needed the extra millimetres to shoehorn the engine in.

I've got a bonnet spare mounting kit installed on my '94 300tdi Defender 5-door station wagon so it's definitely possible - you just gotta source the kit

I would have thought that all 1994 Hardtops would have had a spare mount on the bonnet. Anyway I think they're all capable of it. The bonnets with spares had a hood stick to hold them up, the ones without had the scissor lift. From my experience with the series Land Rovers though, the scissor lift will hold the bonnet with a spare tyre on it up just fine.

I made my own for our Stage 1, and a mate has a Series spare mount on his Defender. (bonnets are very much alike if not the same)
