    noob electrical question

I have some 2.5mm three core cable in the shed,,
I need to run a dedicated power supply to charge the camper battery,,
can I join the active and neutral at the lugs?
do I increase my current capacity by doing so?

i run 13sqmm cable and get under .1v drop at the trailer.

i would think 2 @ 2.5 would not be sufficient myself. run a length out the distance you need and see what sort of voltage drop you get and then look at the current you can push thru it and i am pretty sure it would come up wanting... be better than nothing tho it has to be said...

what sort of camper you got pedro, i must have missed that one?

    I run 6sqmm cable and havn't had a problem.
Haven't measured the voltage drop though.

Too small, 6mm minimum I would think.

Is this 240 AC we're talking about?
Is it 3 core flex (as in extension lead cable)?
Or 3 core flat cable which is fixed in position?

G’day Pedro, I take it you are talking about running cable to carry 12v from a battery charger to the CT battery.

How long is the run and how big is both the battery and the charger.

    Cheers.
