    Surgeing 300TDI

    Ok wise ones,
Still having issues after a rountine service on the weekend, refer previous post, have now replaced the lift pump, cleaned, replaced and tightened all filters, Bleed the system and now have pure unairated diesel from the bleed screw on top of the front filter, all good you would think

Test Drive all Good, Up and down the Mt Dandenong tourist Rd can't fault it, at idles though its surgeing / hunting up to 750rpm down to 5/600.......

So is it still air getting or still in the system, injectors or what !!!!

Has been running a treat up until the service

    Thanks for all input
    Cheers Andrew

depending on what has been done during the service it sounds like the govenor is hunting a little try adjusting the idle throttle screw a micky, the style of pump on the Tdi's is prone to hunting if the idle speed is allowed to be set by the internal govenor by itself especially if they are older units, but let it be governed by an external throttle setting thats just a micky over idle and they will sit all day....

Mines been hunting like that since we got it, Ive played around with the Idle/throttle stop screw to bump it up a bit but then it tries to push when stopped at the lights in drive so I backed it back off.

I only tweaked it a Bee's d!ck or a mickey if thats what Dave means lol

Cant see it doing any damage, can just be a bit annoying when you have a few vibrations in the cabin that come on and of as the revs raise and drop.

just remember when you use his hair as a comparison tool your after the width of the hair not the length.

I also use the summer hair as opposed to the winter coat as that tends to be a bit thicker.

what did they touch during the service......?

go over the engine and have a look to see if everything is in its place......
starting at the air filter......make sure all the plumbing is properly fitted.....

have you tried to bump the idle up a bit yet....?
