    Detroit Locker - installation question

My Detroit Locker arrived from the US today. (Thanks Keith from RoverTracks) Its going in to rear of my 110 (Salisbury).

However, I'm confused regarding whether or not the thrust washers should be left in.

There is a label on the locker which says that "Failure to install thrust washers will result in differential failure and void warranty"

The instruction booklet says "be sure all thrust washers are removed from the differential case. Failure to do so will cause the NoSpin differential to malfunction"

    The Ashcroft Transmissions website:
    Ashcroft Transmissions says:
"............... 9) Split the two halves and remove all the internal parts, i.e., : side gears cross pin 4 small gears 10) Leave the thrust washers in. 11) Once the locker is sitting home replace the .................."

Any one fitted a Detroit to a Salisbury and come across this issue?

Never done a detroit into a sals sorry

But the could be meaning thrust washers behind the spider gears, which would require removeing

And thrust washer which are beside the carrier bearings, for tooth contact and bearing preload, which would need to stay

    P.S. how much landed?

I dont know, the oil is draining out of it as we speak......

Am I going to have dramas removing the center without using the case spreader/compressor that the manual refers to?
