I usually supply the OE Delkor 900CCA for the Td5 defenders/Discos.
It is the same as the genuine battery, which lasts for ages.
I have had a good run out of these, and recently replaced one that had gone 7 years in a D2.

    About $240.

I can attest to the longevity of the factory D2 Td5 batteries - I've just replaced mine in my 99 Disco. I went for a Century 850CCA as a replacement as they're widely regarded as being one of the most reliable brands, although I've heard good things about Optima too...

well i've only had the car for just over 3 1/2 years and its only a bit over 4 years old from time of manufacture would have been nice to get 7 years out of it!

Tho im not verry happy with the allrounder tho i think i may have got a dud its going back on monday to be checked out as it has lost alot of its capacity as it will only hold my fridge overnight before it cuts off with low voltage and its claimed to be a 120 A/H battery and its only 3 months old

Exide Orbital - have two of them with an SC80 DBC in the Defender. Working very well as a setup...

i run Century Off Road Batteries in both the Rovers. they're about 700 CCA i think from memory. never had an issue with either.
failing that, a maintainence free battery from the likes of earthmoving giant CAT (available through WesTrac) expect to pay for something like that though
