Could be the same price as a replacement TD5 engine, if you're lucky - seriously, do a search on PTO, Thomas, Powauto, mile marker, and cut snake both within AULRO and google - there has been a fair amount of discussion about these sort of winches recently to give you a better idea of what is available these days. Economy wise, you'll be limited to electric low mount types. If you haven't twigged, PTO isn't easily available to LR owners in Australia anymore, and fitting a PTO type winch to a defender is harder. (Not impossible but costly.)
