    ZF 4HP22 Automatic gearbox

    can anyone advise me of a trusted automatic gearbox repairer on the gold coast? i would someone in the southern coast, or tweed area, however i would like a repairer that is familiar with these boxes.

    51jay should be able to help out with that... Ive got his box sitting on the floor repaired (Im justdoing the bolt up work) and waiting for the correct Tc and flexplate to mate it back up.

    Harry,

    I'll give a guy I know (Was Stan from the Brake Shop) who arranged to have a BW rebuilt for my XJ6. It was only $800.

    This guy apparently rebuilds autos for most makes.
    Stan sold his Brake business to a guy who promptly went broke. (Did not listen to the Master :-)

    I got my c6 auto for my ftruck done a Russel autos in Ashmore, they built it bullet proof, I have had no problems with it, I have not heard of any ill comments about them.

    Like you've said, you want someone familiar with them, they're a different critter to a BW or C6, built strangely loose, no bands, been looking at a mate who's building a tough ZF, after his fresh stock rebuilt ZF lasted 30,oook.............behind a 383 stroker
