my money is on the ignition module...
Daves Landy - Willowe the 97 Disco
Hopefully someone can help with this problem..Have a 94 v8 Disco that does not like the hot weather. Car, for no reason when driving along feels as though it has lost power and then stalls. Depending on the mood of the car, as to whether it starts restarts in one minute or up to 30 minutes. I am completely frustated with not knowing if I will get to my destination car and my mechanic is more frustated as he is having trouble tracing the problem. My mechanic spoke to a Land Rover dealer serviceman who said that they didn't want to see the car as he had done everything that they would do. So far, Air Flow Meter died, so reco one put in (since retested as problem still remains), New fuel pump, New alternator, ECM Tested also Coil & Distributor tested, all OK. Fuel filter & petrol tank cleaned. Problem still exists. The car goes perfectly when it goes and you cannot fault it, picks up well and runs smoothly.
Cannot afford to get another car so need to solve problem as car is vital for transport for work.

When mine cuts out while driving it's usually the wiring in the steering column (hit it a few times), however my car is more that twice the age of yours
and the wiring probably three times worse
.
If it is not what Inc. said check the IAC valve on the back of the plenum chamber and see if the the 3 allen head bolts are tight, remove it anyway and clean carbom from valve and the seat that it seals in, check the MAF and the IAC that the plug is not loose, clean terminals, Please let us know how things go and if the advice from the forum posters helped or not, Regards Frank.
Thanks all for the help. Ignition module replaced but it has only half solved problem.

Check fuel filter . Then suspect fuel pump in the process of failing .
Do what Tank said and get back to us and I believe that he has already changed the fuel filter and cleaned the tank out.
May not be nessesarilly a tempeature related problem, that part could be a coincidence as Ive had stupid problems like that before which are just pains to diagnose.
Your best bet would be to get it to a LR specialist if there is a good one near you and give them a drive and put it on a tune up machine and rovercom (if possible or nessesary) to check the systems.
