I bought a genuine Isuzu tach and sender from Zenith Engineering in Brisbane, They are the Isuzu industrial engine dealer. The sender screws into the bottom of the injection pump in lieu of one of the plugs with a female square drive. Easy fit-up and wiring. Hardest part was where to house it on the dash.

    3 choices
the piezo electric sensor type on one of the injector lines
replace the alternator with one that has a tach output and then use a tacho from that (tdi300s have this)
an optical sensor or hall effect sensor and a strip magnet on either the flywheel or the front pully and use that to drive a pulse drive tacho.
