snorkle, nice cool air, HAS to be some improvement,, hard to prove though,,
you are really left with the two biggies,,
Turbo and Supercharger

Or drop a 4.6 bottom end on it

fuel price, registration costs, bugger the bush levies, and market numbers, [ie: how many out of 20 mil people are going to buy one]

Maybe it would have competed with the 4.6 Range Rover down here.

The NAS disco needed the 4.6 to compete with all the other similarly priced SUV's over there. They generally had bigger and more powerful engines than the D2's 4.0.
