As a bit of an experiment I have created a page in the WIKI just to see if it may be a useful tool. It does not appear in the drop down list when you select WIKi form the menu bar so maybe it has to be reviewed by an admin first, who knows, but the link is below.

I figure the WIKi will be most useful for those topics that keep coming up so I picked the Disco2 CDL issue as there is plenty of material in threads already.

The process I followed was:
  1. Do searches on likely words to find as many threads as possible
  2. Read through the threads extracting information including some useful quotes
  3. Formatiing it so it can be read as stand-alone with links to the most useful threads
Note that I have no technical knowledge, this was all sourced from the wisdom that all of you have typed up previously. The idea being someone new can come along and get a good picture of the topic before they post a new thread.

And it can be added to as new ideas and suggestions arise.

If there are factual errors or someone has better way of explaining things then they can edit it.

It is similar to the common thread area except the consolidated info is on one page instead of spread through a discussion.

THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT. Constructive feedback is key to determining if the WIKI will be a useful tool and hopefully provide Incisor with some ideas about whether or not it should continue, and if so how it might be used. If the whole page gets deleted and considered a waste of time I don't mind, just triggering a thought process.
