my moneys on a welch plug.
if it is dont skimp do them all AFTER you temporarily plug up the offender then get the block chemically cleaned out and the radiator flushed rodded and pressure checked.
Well heres a scary situation
The D2 has decided to leak coolant from an unknown area behind the right side of the engine
seeing as we have today off we are starting the process of elimination as to where the leak is heres hoping its a simple fix
Wish me luck

If not just a leaking heater hose, it is most probably a leaking head gasket.
I would be surprised if such a new engine had welsh plug problems, but Rovers are full of surprises.

Heya cobba
we have the plenum chamber and upper manifold off
having smoko (Coffee and Cake)and then off with the valley cover and rocker covers
the heads have been off before(not since we have had it)
so could be a problem revisited
until the heads come off I am just guessing
Id better get out there eh SWMBO is back at it and Im still typing
will keep ya posted
Looks like Im cooking and cleaning for the next hundred years![]()
Well its not as bad as I thoughtthe valley cover gasket is slightly corroded just enough for coolant to get passed and leak between the valley and the head .
It looks like a trip to Rovacraft this week and then put it all back together
I tell ya its a worry when ya beasty starts to bleed at a slow rate and you cant see where its coming from
I spent a couple of hours underneath the damn thing with a torch and couldnt see a leak anywhere
as soon as the valley cover came off you could see it straight away so I guess I should be happy it wasnt a more serious problem as we have been very lucky so far with the ole girl
