When Listening doesn't work!
What's a good way to find an exhaust leak when there's no holes and just listening hasn't worked...
I know it's on the LHS in the engine bay and it reduces when hot.....Seems to be coming from either the joint at the bottom of the manifold where it meets the pipe or where the manifold bolts to engines.
Tried tightening all bolts but i think it's chewed out a gasket!
D2 V8 BTW!

Hi,
Try gaffa tape around the suspected area. Run engine for a few mins, reving. Turn off, check spot, you'll see where the tape got bit!
Cheers,
Pete'

Thanks pete
if I was to go to the trouble of replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets.....
They are rusty high tensile bolts holding the manifold on, do you saok them in WD40 overnight to get them off and then get a torque wrench to put them back on....
Any tips?...
