From memory i think the green glycol based stuff is OK on the tdi but on the TD5 OAT is required. Someone will correct this if it is wrong.
With the green glycol stuff you will always get a bit of brown sludge when you drain it. I have noticed this with many cars. Usually I do every 12 months. With the OAT I have not noticed this sludge but then it is supposed to have a 5 year life as well.
I do not believe the OAT stuff will hurt a tdi either.
