Hell I could think af a multitude of times I could have used one of them - looking up behind the dash on any car is a nightmare. Refrigeration work checking pipes have been soldered properly. the list goes on.

Some time ago an auction frequenter of my acquaintance bought an endoscope from a govt. auction. A little while later he got a visit from a couple of detectives. Apparently these things were at that time commonly used by safe breakers. They would use a magnetic drill press and a diamond drill to make holes in a safe door and then insert the endoscope for vision whilst they manipulated the locks. He said the wallopers were quite agitated that the gadget went to public auction. He is a licensed second hand dealer and was able to convince them of his bona fides. He used to deal in a lot of medical and dental equipment.

Ooh. Bondi here we come, heh?

I've used an old Dentist mirror for hard to see machinery places for years.
Point a good light source at the mirror, and it's amazing what you can find in dark corners. Grime, and other mechanical crimes.
And you can get mechanics mirrors, that are polished stainless steel on an extensible rod, at most good tool stores. Complete with swivelly head.

(Tape a pencil type LED torch to the rod, so the light shines in mirror. When you position it all, you don't see the light of the torch reflected back, but what the reflected light from the mirror is showing. SMAGIC.)

Try your local ATD. Australian Tool Distributors.
Unless they are purely South Aussie, I don't know. I only know the local bloke.

That is what I have done for years shorty - the beauty of the camera is the ability to take shots to show clients work mates etc
