    Quick Question about leaf spring centering bolts

    Hi guys, Just a quick one.
    Does anyone know of the top of their heads what the diameter of the centering bolts on leaf springs is? I don't want to have to take my U bolts off just to take a measurement.

    I don't know if they are all the same, but the spare axle housing I have to hand is 5/8" (1970 109 rear)

    the head might be 5/8th but from memory the shank diameter is something like 5/16th

    Just remembered I have an accessible spring not on a vehicle - head is 5/8", shank is 3/8" (this one is a 1960 88 rear). Thread is UNF, although I don't imagine that this is critical.

    I believe they vary in diameter on different models too.

    I would not be at all surprised - that is why I noted the model and location my measurements were off.

    Thanks for the replies guys. It's for my stage one. But I have fitted a series II front axle to it and the centering bolts still fit. So the series II sizes should work. If anyone is curious why I need to know.... I'm making some 10 deg castor wedges!
