Living in Alice Springs would be a good treatment.
ok dudes and dudette's. We all know a landie with a softop is the best thing since sliced bread. But what about mould?! with all this recent rain, my recently acquired softop from all wheel trim UK, has started growing mould on the inside. I thought the top would come treated or waterproofed but obviously not! SO. what do we all use for canvas treatments? are there any cheap alternatives? i'm thinking exit mould is a big no no is i dont want to ruin my canvas, its worth a lot! the water is seeping through from the outside thus causing dampness on the inside and mould to grow. gimme all your ideas!!
cheers

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Okay, this is taken from the cleaning handbook called spotless....
"Scrub the canvas with 2 cups of salt added to a small bucket of water and apply with a brush. leave it to dry. there should be a lot of salt on the surface. Scrub it again to help loosen any remaining mildew. hose/wash it clean and dry in sunny spot"
For the brush you just want something relatively hard bristled.
The small bucket would be no more then a couple of litres luke-warm or cool.
"Then to inhibit you need some oil of cloves and some water and just a few drops of oil of cloves on it diluted in 100 off mls of water."
I should just add to that once it is all cleaned up you could then buy a treatment. There are tons out there and all quite good but realistically it should be cleaned well first otherwise it may spread.

When we lived in Darwin we used salt water and oil of cloves on our outside walls to prevent mould (and clean it off) - so that seems like good advice. Locals put us onto it - they know best I reckon!
