    Kings Spings & Bilsteins Shockies

    Hi All.

    I had noticed that my pride and joy (2003 Disco) started to get spring sag in the rear end.

    After searching throught the old threads about the topic of shockies and springs I have decided with the following (standard height):

    Kings springs
    Bilsteins shockies from the USA including steering stabilizer for $615aud (thanks MOS for the link to Bilstein - KYB - Rancho - Monroe - Edelbrock Automotive Truck Shocks and Struts - Shockwarehouse.com)

    Can anyone see a better setup for around the same money?

    Regards Mark

    What part number did you have for the Bilsteins?

    A pair of Bilsteins in Australia can be purchased for around AUD$430 so if you are wanting to get a set of front and rears, it should set you back around $860 just for the shocks alone.

    The bilstein shocks to suit a 2" lifted Disco II part numbers are as follows

    BE5-B994
    Extended Length:615.5
    Closed length:390.5
    Rebound of 3045Nm
    Bump of 930 Nm
    Rated at.52 M per Sec.

    BE5-B995 (F4-BE5-B995-M0)

    Ext Length:618mm
    Closed Length:388mm
    Rebound of 2555Nm
    Bump of 1035Nm
    Rated at .52 Per sec

    F4-BE5-B995-MO is the full part number for the rear shocks, if I look at the packaging on the box.

    The bilstein shocks to suit a stock, non-lifted Disco II part numbers are as follows:

    Front F4 BE5 6046 HO
    Rear F4 BE5 6047 HO

    If you want to look at Old Man Emu shocks, this info may be of use:

    OME shocks
    FRONT = Open 608mm, Closed 373mm
    REAR = Open 593mm, Closed 363mm

    You can easily find the part numbers for OME here:

    Old Man Emu OME Suspension Nitrocharged Shocks Springs - Expedition Exchange

    Yes, the Billies to suit a 2" lift are slightly longer than the OMEs for 2" lift as I've compared them side by side. You'll need to think about fitting raised bump stops if you purchase Bilsteins for the 2" lift.

    Good luck with your decision!
