LT 230 transfer case special tools
Does anyone have a drawing or information on the special tool LST 105 used for setting pre-load in the transfer case bearings. I have looked through my manual it does not give any extra info about it. As far as I can work out in my book that tool is about the only one that would be difficult to get away without.
Any help would be good.

In my RAVE, the tool to assist in setting the intermediate shaft bearing preload (Which appears to be the operation you describe) is just an adapter for a dial type torque meter. You could try and use a click type torque wrench if it is the small version in lbs/inches. The adapter could be made up out of a bolt: weld a spare socket (that matches the torque meter) to a (somebody refresh my memory as to which bolt fits into the end of the output shaft...) bolt, and use a nut to lock it into the shaft. All you are doing is turning the main shaft, and at only 2nm it won't hurt the mainshaft.

LT 230 special tool
the tool I am after fits into the spline of main drive gear in the transfer case. It would have to be the same size as the end of the gear box main shaft. The tool has a round knurled end the you tie and wind string around, you then use a fish scale to measure the drag on the bearings.
