    Bilsteins shockies difference for D2

    Hi All.

Recently I posted that my 2003 Disco has saggy springs and that I have decided to replace with kings and order some Bilsteins shockies from the States as they are so cheap.

The product code I have from the states is:
    BE5-6046-H0
    BE5-6047-H0

I thought I would try some local distributors of Bilsteins to see the difference in price etc.

The local company quoted me on the following part numbers:
    BE5-B994
    BE5-B995

They said that they recommend their Bilsteins as they provide a little extra wheel travel and that the standard Bilsteins are too short.

Price in the states is going to be around $615aud landed compared to the local price of $1170 plus freight.

Any suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated.

Yes the long travel Bilsteins are better if your lifting your Disco, i had the standard bilsteins on a 40mm lift and they topout when offroad, the bang is bloody loud let me tell ya

So if you can get them from the US, get them, but if your going to standard spring heights then the standard Billies are fine.

Thats a good price BTW, $615aud.

    Cheers Baz.

I just picked up my rear Bilsteins for the Defender this morning.

Quadrant (in Berwick, Vic) will sell stock Land Cruiser or Range Rover Shocks for $199ea, current special. Maybe givethem a call about what suits the Disco and pricing. It might be worth the extra $181 for local product, 100,000km warranty and longer stroke.
