V8 Fuel Filter Location Disco 2?

					Boys,
Can anyone tell me where the fuel filter for v8 disco 2 is located? I've looked high and low - manual doesn't appear to list it's location. Also will be running the on-car injection cleaner kit thru the injectors while I've got the filter off
Also re ACE, is it a fact that a a filter replacement requires hook-up to computer thing they have a service places?
Thanks.

Disco II V8 fuel filter is part of the fuel pump / guage sender unit and is not replaceable on its own. Replacement requires a complete new pump / sender unit.

ACE filter replacement might require a particular bleed sequence, but we haven't done one for about 3 years, so I can't remember.

BigJon, thanks for the info - wonder why I've been sold a filter to suit D2? So I'm guessing the fuel filter in pump has a large volume to collect debre etc. Queer design.
Thanks,
Slow Disco.

					Slow Disco
You shouldn't need to bleed the ACE system when you replace the filter. Only needs bleeding when you replace hoses, pump ect...in which case you will need a diagnostic computer.

					V8Hybrid,
Yes that's what I was thinking, have you carried out the procedure yourself?
Cheers,
Dave.

Yes Once before, but my brother and the guys in the workshop do them more often.
Just undo the housing (filter is located on the valve block assy under the driver side sill) using allen key socket.
Take housing off, you may find the o-rings will hold the filter in the block, in that case screw a 6mm bolt into the filter and use the bolt to pull the filter out, dont turn the filter, just pull out.
Fit new filter, make sure new o-ring is fitted correctly and make sure everything is clean when fitting. Fit new housing o-ring and fit housing.
Check fluid once done, top up if needed. Run engine for couple of mins and check fluid again. You dont lose much, hence no need to bleed the system.
You only have to change ACE filter every 120,000km
