P38A Brakes issue
Hi All,
Last few days my brakes have started to become a bit spongey and have to pump the pedal a couple of times to stop.
Also the brake warning and TC lights stay on longer than usual when I pull away in the morning.
I can hear pump going when i start up and have checked for leaks ..
Brake fluid was changed at last service..
Possible problem with Accumulator ??
Any other bits worth checking ??
It's 10 years old now..so expecting to change some bits soon !
cheers,
Richard

I would suspect accumulator or pump. We have a P38 in the workshop at the moment with those symptoms and the pump runs for about 30 seconds on first startup.

All sorted....new Accumulator fitted and all is well with Fluffy's brakes...
Warning lights go out in a couple of seconds and brake pedal pressure is instant..
$300 for new accumulator and a bit of brake fluid to top up with during bleeding..
I'm not sure how long these accumulators are designed to last for..but 11 years is not too bad I suppose..
cheers,
Richard
