Lead is so malleable because the re-crystalisation temperature is below normal ambient. When the crystalline structure is altered/damaged by work, it re-forms at normal temperatures and doesn't need heat treatment like other metals.

I have got MAXI lockers and axles in my 98 300tdi and find them to be excellent. So for those interested in MAXIS and are at a loss where to get them, here is some assistance.

A better method of actuation compared to the ARB and Maxidrive in my opinion. This said, I think ARB may have revised theirs with the updated Rover Air Locker, but I'm not sure what they've done.Quote:
