I dont think the lift will necessitate a longer panhard rod if it is only 2" but the bushes do wear. If that happens the axle can move left to right.
I have had to change these on both my 90 at about 40k miles and my Range Rover in the uk at about 79k miles.

Check for a cracked chassis near a suspension mount - probably one of the front radius arm mounts onto the chassis.
We are beginning to clutch at straws, but there must be a reason for the behaviour.

Must admit as John, just said, now reached the point of clutching at straws!!
Think you will have to get him to systematically go over the whole car again, checking everything with a lever if possible. All the track rod ends, the bushes, the A frame is bolted tightly to the chassis, the panhard rod bushes, etc etc!
