    P38 issues - engine stopping

    Hi guys

I'm in a bit of a pickle and was after any advise please

    Have a P38 1997 .. with new 2001 motor in it 20k old

Having major probs with the engine spluttering and eventually konking out after around 20 mins of driving. Basically what its doing... always after a time and usually under load.. but the other day it did it under normal driving so im expecting that its just getting worse.

This is what have done with Ricks so far to try and fix in the last few months-

    -new fuel pump
    -breather hose
    -spark plugs
    -new crank angle sensor
    - new radiator (thought might be because its getting a little warm)

I'm totally out of ideas and the car can't be looked at for nearly 3 weeks

Next thing is I am thinking the air flow meter might be stuffed?? but wouldn't it run bad all the time if it is?

    Hope someone has any input

    Cheers

Is that the power box? coils are in that?

was just thinking .. it stopped the other day just after 5 mins of driving.. so nothing to do with heat i guess

how do you test the coils? has to be running rough to do that I guess yeah? always the way its been into Ricks 6 times and never does it when on the tester...I'm guessing his tester will pick up coil probs

    hmm hard one

Not positive on the P38's but my disco coil was left running for 30mins from memory as they don't start showing any problems until about 10mins of running according to the mechanic who did it.
