    rim offset question

    gday
I am looking at a camper trailer up here but it comes with a toymotor hub and sunraisure rims. Does anyone know the offset figures for these rims - and for standard D1 steelies - as I want to see if it would need a new axle to fit LR hubs.
    thanks

ok got the offset figure for the D1 steelies...33mm inwards

I think we would have to know which Sunraysia? 15 inch ? width? etc.

If you have access to the trailer just get under and put a straightedge across the inner rim and measure to the back of the mounting surface.
Then do the same with a Disco rim.
Then measure the clearance between the tyre and any object that can foul during suspension travel.
If you are using the same tyres then you should have an answer. If you are using different tyres then you have to account for the difference in width +/-.
My Campomatic came with Toyota Split rims (5.5?) and 750R16 tyres and my Range Rover mags and 205R16s fit, athough with only 10MM clearance to the inner guard.

Without looking at the sunnies i would say that disco rims will most likely have more negative (inwards) offset than any sunny rim i have seen. I know when measuring up my trailer axle to fit D1 steel rims the axle is about 50mm short.

If the camper has AlKo drum brakes, you don't need to replace the axle, you just replace the hub/drum assembly with Disco 1 (original Land Rover PCD hubs) they will still use the same bearings. The land Rover PCD (not Disco 2) are an optional stock item from AlKo.

If it's a new camper perhaps the dealer will option it with the LR PCD and wheels from new or you just supply the rims.
