AHHHHHHHHH VAX the swear word in the carpet industry.
Quickest way to ruin a carpet and need a new one. Which hold on , mmm we should love them as you all have to buy a new carpet because you have nackered you old one with your VAX
Most people who have a VAX will tell you they used to wash their carpet once a year and then once every six months, and then once every month and so on . mmmm normal story , but it pumps cleaner in the carpet but does not get it all out as it does not have the power. Then the carpet attc dirt quicker and quicker so it looks and gets dirtier quicker and quicker

The ONLY way to ensure that all the water is out of the underlay is to remove it and hang it until dry. The foam holds and will retain water and surface corrosion WILL occur if left in place.
The carpet is easily cleaned with a steam cleaner with plenty of lift (air movement/vacuum.
If it's all too hard, an air mover of some sort (preferably not a hair dryer) will do the job, but it will take time - doors open and as much air as possible into, under and around the underlay - you have to raise the carpet and the foam separately for this to work well. Soak up the excess water with a towel as it runs out of the foam.
A bit of deodorizer at the end of the process, clean the carpet and it's over till next week.
We run a carpet cleaning business...
