    Diagnostic Port

Today I was trimming a rubber mat in the driver footwell of my new Disco when I stumbled across a diagnostic port.

What is this for? (97 300Tdi)

A heated windscreen? It works like the rear window demister and was an option in colder countries.

If its not hooked up to anything, all I can guess at is thar your car was made before or after a batch of Japanese exports - their 300tdi's were EFI, not mechanical.
