    Is this a low comp. head

    Hi all

    I looked through previose posts but couldn't find the matching marks on my head.
    Is the below a 7:1 or 8:1

    7:1. The 8:1 head has a raised square boss right where the word ("Qualcast"?) in the elliptical plaque is, with an "8" stamped (not cast) in it. If the boss is blank or has a "7" it is a 7:1 but can be ground to raise the ratio. (unless someone has already ground it and not relabelled it)
    The head you show cannot be safely ground to give 8:1, but you will probably get away with some increase in ratio.
