Throttle potentiometer problems - could be faulty or a loose connector plug for it. Better get it sorted as no throttle puts some limitations on driving.

happened again today. highway doing 90 kph, suddenly yellow light comes on, no gas pedal.
turned engine off, started again- all is fine. happened again after 500 m.
looked at the harness on the ecu side- looks dry.

As others have noted, accelerator pedal. It is a known fault. We have replace d6 or so in the last three years. The ECU will have logged a fault something along the lines of "driver demand".

    FUEL CAP ON CORRECTLY???
On the D2 TD5 there is a warning at the filler to turn cap past 3 clicks, failure to do so can cause the engine check light to illuminate.
Worth a check, especially if the OTHER driver fueled it last.

I agree with the other guys who say "throttle potentiometer" as the cause of this fault. I have had exactly the same problem with my TD5. The fact that the light has come on, and you have had to restart to get throttle control back, means that a fault code should be stored in the ECU memory.

    Cheers,

    Hi,
went to the garage..a carefull look at the red connector shows very small amount of oil. as the car is ex military, looks like this is leftover and possibly theinner harness was replaced (car with 270k km and very small amount of oil)
looking at the ecu log- we didnt see any "driver demand.." after clearing it
    no log event after driving.
so at the moment we cant know if this is because the oil, or the pedal.
i think best now is to wait and see if it happenes again, and what the log has.

    what do you think ?
