    hazard lights and rough roads

its happened 3 times now with my 97 300 tdi disco.
While driving on very coragated roads the hazards come on, to solve the problem I pull up and turn off the disco, when resarted the hazards go off. Is this a faulty inursure switch or ?
    cheers

It is a fault in the alarm module. There is a fix for it, it involves disconnecting a solder joint in the module.

It's part of the wonderful Lucas electronics.

Mine does the same whenever I go over a bump a bit too hard. It's to do with the intertia switch/collision sensing stuff or so I'm told.

I'm sure someone else can explain more thoroughly...

I have had the hazards come on after hitting wash outs and the like and have had to reset using the inertia switch. Funny thing is, the inertia switch is supposed to cut off the fuel supply but the engine continues to run and the hazard lights flash. I don't see it as a real problem because it requires a pretty decent thump, which if nothing else reminds me to calm down a bit

    Thanks all
After reading the replys I am now happy to put up with it. Like its only happened them few times and I spend a bit of time on rough roads so its not a constant annoyance.
    cheers

Jon....I don't have an alarm module on my Discovery but I still suffer from the same problem everytime I hit a large pothole or similar.
Would I still have the alarm module in my loom somewhere or perhaps the MFU does the same job if an alarm is not fitted?

    Thx.
