Hi to all.
Im new to this type of question and have tried to find out what type of V8 conversion can be done to a 130 defender.
Chev 6.5 ? and who in QLD would do this type of work.
One more question. What causes the thumping noise when you let the clutch out ( have had the new toy for 3 mths )
and is it going to cause any damage if left alone.
Cheers
In regards to the conversion dose any members have Photos and a price of the work done.
Are you wanting petrol or Deisel ?
I would get under your car with a tyre lever & check your engine & gearbox mounts for that thump. You will fracture the others eventually.
Cheers,
David
Thank you for your answers.
Prefer Diesel and I have been under the toy with a lever and there solid ?? would it be the diff ?
And I have sent an email to linquip but no reply ( must be busy )
Once again cheers
And is it a big no no with the conversion buy doing that to a landrover![]()
The thump could be worn ball joint on the back axle, worn leading/trailing arm bushes under front or rear axle. Loose UJs, worn gearbox to transfer splines, worn clutch plate springs.
And the list goes on.
