in for a penny in for a pound.....
If the logistics of it works out its on the cards I figure if 3 men can lift it It can be loaded onto the trailer.
What about bulkhead galvanising, too?

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
I have galvanised 2 of these successfully. You get sime rippling of the footwells, tunnel, etc. But the overall structure stayed square (or as square as LR tolerances) in both cases.
Dobbo - if you find a price like that let me know where it is!!! I used to get $0.90/kg (galvanised weight) from Industrial galvanisers in Brisbane, but the last lot I had done in Perth was more like $1.25/kg.
Dave - getting a trade rate would give you the best price - any mates work for companies that get a lot of stuff galved?
Urrrrrgh, don't get me started on that. The first place I went to actually managed to squish my lovely straight bulkhead. It looked like a forklift backed into it. You should have heard the excuses. What about bulkhead galvanising, too?
The second place missed a spot on my replacement bulkhead and re-dipped it, badly denting one side while they were at it. But I used it anyway and it's been okay for the last 11 or so years.
Once again, you need real professionals who care about the work.
I went to three different places in Perth, but at least, as far as you're concerned, it was over a decade ago. The crazy thing was the galvanisers in Canada who did my present chassis were no different, and that was in 2004!
I'd recommend grabbing the foreman - or whoever - and getting an explanation of what's needed and telling them what you want. It might not get through to them but it's worth a try. As well as drilling lots of holes!
Anyway, a PM will be sent . . .
