OK, around the same Ks as mine.
After speaking to various other clutch professionals today, it seems that it could be the pressure plate, it's either faulty or has been bent when fitted, actually one guy was very confident and even stated the system mightened have been bled properly either.
Initially it was thought to be the flywheel, but, and again talking to the experts about it, if it was the flywheel it would be noisy for one, have a shudder or the clutch would slip, this is what others have said when speaking too them.
I just want it solved so i can rest easy it won't destroy itself somewhere out in woop woop and spoil a good trip:(
Baz.
was the new clutch put in with the reco gearbox?
BTW, I don't suppose you find it clunky going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd?
Yes Pete it was.
Yes they can be like that, you'll probably notice you crunch going from 2nd to 3rd sometimes.
OK, over the weekend i decided to have a look under
the car too see if i could see anything wrong, to my surprise i
found one broken bolt and one missing alltogether, so i rang the
mechanic to see if this would contribute, he didn't think so.
I got the missus to drop by after work to get 2 bolts from him and
see if it was the problem, i couldn't get the rest of the broken
bolt out, so i just replaced the missing one, then took the Disco
for a short drive.
The pulse has gone from the clutch pedal, i thought you beauty!! but
that was short lived, because this morning driving to work the car
has a really bad vibration under load and from 85kph up to and over
100kph, you can really feel it through the gearstick and even
through the floor.
Too me this can only meen one thing, something in the clutch or
gearbox is not aligned correctly.
I am going to remove the bolt this arvo to see what happens and i'm
also going to check to see if anything is touching, like the
crossmember or check the front and rear prop shafts for damage.
Anything anyone can add to this?
Baz, AAArrrrrrrr.

I removed the bolt last night, this morning on the way to work,
the pulse was back on the clutch pedal and the bad vibration has
gone, frustrating really, especially having had the gearbox transfer case rebuilt and clutch replaced.
Baz.
obviously the broken/missing bolts dont help,,
but with THAT problem added to the equation its sounding more and more like a dud install---
but are the broken/missing bolts the CAUSE of the vibes--
or BECAUSE of the vibes--
?
I think you'll have to rip it out again Baz,,,:(
will your guy let you hang around while he rips it out,,,, not that I think you would deal with unsavory characters--(except for Phil:p)
but would be best to see it as it hits the floor---
