I have 2 rears in my disco. There were no fronts in the country when I bought them.
The chap that brings them in (locked drive systems or something like that name), told me that they usually fit rears to the front. When I questioned him about reversing the helical gears, his reply was that it was not necessary.
rocket industries quote $763+gst and freight nil stock ex usa locked drive was $900.00 net plus GST, including freight ex stock found one on ebay new in the box but 10 spline bloke had one 24 spline too but allready soldwent for like 600 bucks
When I bought mine 912A383 (now in market section!) I confirmed with the diff place (Southern Differentials) so that if I decided to upgrade and put a locker in the rear I could simply relocate the Truetrac from rear to front. Instead I got a pair of lockers!

so you have 4.7 gears then? thats what the rocket info says that part number is for. and 912A407
front axle. - 1993 - 98 Land Rover 24 spline axles. is the one i need for the front from there info
Can't say what gears it has. This was the one the Aussie agents recommended for R or F of a RR with 24 spline.... It worked fine, in forward or rearward directions, but what was inside the Truetrac, I have no idea.

hmm the number for that diff says its for the 4.7:1 diff ratio not 3.54:1 wonder if the 3.54 crown wheel will bolt on
Having bought two in the last "So you want a trutrack" thread, the place to go is Rovertracks. Forum name REVOR. With the exchange rate at 90%, a Trutrack, postage included, no GST,( Customs upped the limit to $1000) wins over anything mentioned in Australia. The only extra cost is two bearings, fitting and whatever else you want to do whilst the diff is out.
