How to tune a Landi LPG setup?

How do I tune with my Landi LPG setup?
I don't have a problem at the moment but I just think I should know more about what is under my bonnet in regards to LPG.
I think it might be running rich though.

    This is on a 3.9 V8 Disco.

It is a Landi mixer and I think it might be a LSE88. No idea of the Landi model numbers but that was written on it. Along with other numbers though such as
    85cc water capacity
    2.55 mpa

It has two things on it that look like adjustment screws
Plus the usual tap in between the mixer and the gas ring in the air intake.
(Do I have the terms right?)

Its a converter & converters typically have an idle & richness screw.
Its task is to convert the liquid into a vapour.
From memory the richness screw works the opposite to what you think. Screwing it out leans the mix.
    But my memory is crap.
The one with the spring should be the mixture.

The top one is mixture, you'll have to disconnect your stepper after it settles to tune this by ear.
The bottom one is the sensitivity screw, it preloads the diaphram inside, you shouldn't need to alter this.
The power valve in the LP hose is for full power (like main jet), if your consumption is a bit heavy your could back it off say 1/4 turn at a time.

    Thanks guys.

Dan do you have the same unit?

I've been searching on Google and LPG Discussion Forum but have yet to find any DIY tuning info. Little disconnected bits here and there but nothing particularly useful.

Anyone know where I can find this info now I know what the bits are?

I'm going to fit the factory oxygen sensors for the 14CUX whenever they arrive so might be able to use them to help get the right mixture. Not sure how that would go since there are two (one for each side).

I scanned the manual a few months back and posted it on my website.

Look here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/thebecketts/LPG/Lanzi Rendo SE81.max - it's in Paperport format

You'll need the viewer: Nuance - PaperPort 11 - PaperPort Viewers

    Thanks Ron.

Is there a reader programme for that?

I'm about to download the 15 day trial but it would be nice not to get the emails etc that come with a trial version if there is a reader available.

Just read they also want a credit card number and will charge you for the programme if you do not cancel in the 15 days

Found it: Nuance - PaperPort 11 - PaperPort Viewers

Try this one - the Nuance site seems to be down: Index of /Downloads/PaperPort Viewer for Windows

    Thanks Ron.
I've just read through that and although that is not the converter I have I guess the setup is the same.

Are there only meant to be 5 pages? The page numbers on the bottom of the pages show there should be 19. It refers to section 4.1 if you are not going to check the tune with an EGO but 4.1 isn't in the file.

Going by the Landi Renzo website I have no idea what model my converter is.

You could use either 02 sensor as the 2 are mainly for the 2 banks of injectors but as the lpg mixer is just a central fitment feeding all 8 it wont make any difference. By the way Jaycar have a kit to read the mixture of lpg using an 02 sensor.

Justin from memory mine's the same model, I'd have to look at it to confirm, but I know it's a Landi and same layout.
It was fitted at the same place, as you know, did yours go back for Scot to retune it after a settle in period? The diaphrams kind of stretch a little and the tuning goes out, but once it's been retuned after the breakin period then they're usually right. All our forklifts have to be tickled at the 50hr service.
Only other thing is to clean the gunk out of it from time to time, then you may need to touch it up again but it's usually only the fine adjustment you'll need to worry about (top screw).
Another thing I've noticed is that the LPG quality varies and the tuning seems out by a smidge, but the next (different brand) tank it's running well again. It's a gas thang.
And I'm a snobby diesel driver now anyway so I don't care about such things
