    SLS Air Spring replacment

Looks like I'm up for a replacement air spring on my 99 D2.

Was wondering what others have used as replacements.?
Did you get a LR genuine one or are there better aftermarket ones.?
Where did you get them from.?

Also if anyone has any instructions/tips on how to replace them, that would be great. I'm happy do the work myself...just need to know the easiest way to do it.

    Cheers
    Paul

No one.......has no one ever replaced an airspring themselves.???

I would have thought a few members would, considering it's a fairly common fault with the Disco II.

Gday mate, we have ours booked into MR Automotive on the 30th to have all the air taken out and a heavy duty set of springs fitted, Dwayne at MR has told us to do our first trip away on springs and see how it travels and if needed we can install pollies to help, we tow a 2.5t caravan

they are very easy to replace, jack up the vehicle leave the axle hanging remove the wheel, let the air out of the air bag I loosen the hose connections where the compressor lives, remove the two clips at the top of the air bag use a screwdriver, then undo the air fitting at the top of the airbag the bottom part is also easy just twist it 90 degrees and lift out,

Very basic description but it is easy to do
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

Thanks Stevo, that's the sort of info I was after.

Pedro, I did search the site, but couldn't find much on how to actually change the air spring.
The Airbag man website has some instructions, but they are for the Rangie....I wasn't sure if the Disco was the same, as I know the air springs are different.

Cheers Piddler, that is a good price.

The only problem is I need somewhere local, as I need to replace the airspring before next weekend.

The link is great though, as there are illustrated fitting intrustructions.....perfect.
