or you can put a block of 50x50x5 box section on the diff plate and attach it with a s/s hose clamp. (threw the weld on diff plate)
works quite well till you upgrade to extended bumpstops

Hi All
I'm trying to extend the bump stops on my 97 disco due to the tyres rubbing on full articulation in the rear.
Just wondering if there is a quick and easy fix for this and if not what materials people recommend I make some out of?
The way I think it needs to be done is a central block and then 2 smaller blacks at each end to fit where the bolts do. Obviously longer bolts and new lock nuts will be needed.
Any help appreciated
Greebo

i wish i had too much downtravel. my car hasnt been within 50mm of its bumstops. i think the aftermarket spring/shock combo it has+50mm lift means it wont ever get that level of travel.
Got a bloke who is handy with a gas axe and welder looking at cutting me some bits of 1 inch bar and welding up a extension for me. I'll let you know how much he is quoting for the 2 of em and how they go if I go ahead with them.
When I talked to him he was complaining about the price hike in steal. Apparently its gone up by 19% in one hit, ouch.
